ROMANÉE-CONTI Domaine
This is THE domaine par excellence which has been setting the standard for Burgundy wine for many years. Valued as a real celebration of French heritage for its rich history as well as its remarkable wine, the French government refused to let a foreign buyer purchase the domaine in the 80s. Aubert de VILLAINE, who is now in charge of the estate, is sensitive to this tradition of excellence and fully respects the rare pearls which are produced here.
Tasting just one bottle of the many Grands Crus is a truly unforgettable experience…
ECHEZEAUX, GRANDS ECHEZEAUX, ROMANÉE SAINT VIVANT, RICHEBOURG, LA TACHE and the ROMANÉE CONTI are the 6 red wines produced here. Depending on the year, there is a 7ème cru which is VOSNE ROMANÉE 1er cru “Cuvée DUVAULT-BLOCHET”, made from young vines from all the Grands Crus apart from ROMANÉE CONTI.
That is how sought after this cuvée can be!
The white wines made at the domain are absolutely breathtaking. The world-renowned MONTRACHET is incomparable, and anyone who is lucky enough to taste the BATARD MONTRACHET, a wine which is not sold on the market but instead reserved for private functions at the domaine, will know just how exceptional this wine is.
